The Tecsun Pocket Shortwave Radio was originally designed for the requirements of military and law enforcement to provide a fully capable yet small and discreet receiver. It provides reception of the AM/MW, FM, and shortwave bands and has several unique features including a removable external ferrite rod antenna for AM and Shortwave reception. It also includes a wire antenna for improved reception. It provides FM coverage from 108MHz right down to 76MHz allowing the radio to receive signals not intended for the general public. The pocket radio can be connected to an external AM antenna, or the Tecsun AM Loop Antenna for improved AM reception. The ability of this little radio to tune into SSB signals allows you to listen to worldwide signals such as BOM weather reports, 4WD networks, HF CB and amateur (Ham) radio frequencies, and international broadcasts. It improves the audio clarity of received signals by utilising Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to process the received audio and cancel out any background and RF noise. This is one of the smallest HF receivers with SSB capability, making it ideal for when you need to pack light and when on the move.
