For you or the spice lover in your life, we’ve put together a range of chilli seeds with a variety of sizes, colours and heat ratings. Growing different chillies is fun, rewarding and surprisingly easy. With enough water and nutrients, Chillies can thrive in either pots or in the ground. In Australia, chillies can be grown all year round in warmer regions, but will need to be protected and/or pruned back to survive frost and cold weather.
- Anaheim: This larger growing chilli has a mild to medium heat rating of 500 to 2,500 Scoville units. It has a slightly sweet and earthy flavour, making it popular for use in stuffing, roasting, and grilling.
- Carolina Reaper: This chilli variety holds the Guinness World Record for being the hottest chilli pepper in the world, with a Scoville heat rating of up to 2.2 million. It has a fruity, sweet flavour with a delayed and intense heat.
- Cayenne: This chilli has a moderate to hot heat rating of 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville units. It has a slightly sweet and smoky flavour, making it popular for use in seasoning, sauces, and marinades.
- Habanero Yellow: A very hot chilli with a heat rating of 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville units. It has a fruity and slightly sweet flavour, with a citrusy aroma. It’s commonly used in hot sauces, salsas, and marinades.
- Jalapeno: This chilli has a mild to medium heat rating of 2,500 to 8,000 Scoville units. It has a grassy and slightly sweet flavour, making it a popular choice for nachos, poppers, and toppings for burgers and sandwiches.
- Serrano: A medium to hot chilli with a heat rating of 10,000 to 23,000 Scoville units. It has a bright and fresh flavour with a hint of earthiness. It’s commonly used in salsa, guacamole, and as a garnish for soups and stews.
