Aussie Berkey Shop

What happened to the Aussie Berkey Shop?

Due to the increased costs of running two websites, we have decided to merge our two stores - the Aussie Berkey Shop and the Aussie Storm Shop - into a single complete store, to avoid having to push those rising costs onto our customers. This is now the Aussie Storm Shop, but now with all the products that were available on the Aussie Berkey Shop.
The same faces are behind the Aussie Storm Shop as were behind the Aussie Berkey Shop, and your products will ship from the same place! We are now just working through one website instead of two.

Can you access my Aussie Berkey Shop order history?

How do I find household water filters on the Aussie Storm Shop?

When on the main page of the Aussie Storm Shop, hover over or click 'Prepping'. Then click 'Household Water Filters'. This will bring up our range of household water filters. From there you can either go to a specific category of water filters, such as shower filters or gravity filters, or go through all products (which is below the categories). Or click this link: Household Water Filters

 Why isn't Berkey available?

The current stock supply issue is solely related to the legal issues that Berkey USA is currently involved in. For more info, click here: https://support.berkeywater.com/update-nmcl-court-case-vs-epa/

 When will Berkey be available?

Unfortunately, we don't have an ETA on any Berkey stock.

Is there an alternative for the Berkey Systems?

Yes! The good news is that your water filtration doesn't have to end due to the uncertainty with Berkey. A large percentage of our Berkey customers have already switched to using ProOne filters. We have been stocking ProOne for over 10 years, and they are reliable, easy to use, and have great filtration and test results.

I already have a Berkey and need replacement filters - what do I do?

We recommend looking into the ProOne filter elements - they are designed to be used in Berkey systems! Simply screw in the filter as you would a Black Berkey filter element, and put through a tank or two of water to flush out any manufacturing dust that may be caught in the filter.

What's the difference between Berkey filters and ProOne filters?

ProOne filters are the closest filter to the Berkey elements currently on the market.
The main differences between the two brands is ProOne's all-in-one design. There is no need for a secondary fluoride filter like with Berkey, as the ProOne filter element does it for you. No extra hanging filters means more space in the bottom tank, easier installation, and faster cleaning and filtering.
The ProOne filters also do not need to be primed before use. They arrive ready for installation, and once they are installed you only have to put a couple tanks of water through to flush out any manufacturing dust before drinking.

There are different size ProOne filters available - What's the difference and what size do I need?

There are four sizes of ProOne filter elements: 4 inch, 5 inch, 5 inch Prepper, 7 inch, and 9 inch.  When using specific filter sizes with different system sizes can have faster filtration results than others. This is called a 'High Flow' option.

  • The 4 inch element is only for use with the ProOne filtering jug.
  •  The 5 inch element is for use with the filtering jug, and the the ProOne Traveler and Big sizes. When used in the jug, the 5 inch element acts as a High Flow option. Please note that use in the Big system will result in slow filtration, and a shorter lifespan of the filter.
  • The 5 inch Prepper is only for use with the ProOne Scout 2 Traveler filter. This is a small, streamlined hiking filter, and so will not fit with any other ProOne jugs, systems, or Berkey systems.
  • The 7 inch element is the "standard" and most popular size of filter element. It is the same size as the Black Berkey elements, and can be used as a direct substitute for them. The 7 inch elements are suited to all ProOne and Berkey systems. If you have a Berkey and are looking for the closest replacement filters to what you are currently running, the 7 inch ProOne elements are your best bet.
  • The 9 inch elements are the High Flow option for ProOne systems, as well as Royal, Imperial, and Crown size Berkey systems. Since the 9 inch elements are larger than the 7 inch elements and Black Berkey elements, they aren't suitable for any Berkey systems smaller than the Royal.

Please note that the Berkey PF2 - White Fluoride filters - do not screw onto the bottom of the ProOne filter elements, as the fluoride reduction medium is already included in the ProOne elements.
